“I have something I need to tell you," he says. I run my fingers along the tendons in his hands and look back at him. "I might be in love with you." He smiles a little. "I'm waiting until I'm sure to tell you, though."

Four to Tris Prior in Veronica Roth's Divergent

I just think this was the cutest way to tell someone that you love them. He did it in such a cute way that let her know that he loved her without having to say it at that moment.

Synopsis

At the age of 21, Tim discovers he can travel in time and change what happens and has happened in his own life. His decision to make his world a better place by getting a girlfriend turns out not to be as easy as you might think.

Review

When I got the invitation to see a free pre-screening of this movie, I had never even seen a trailer for it. Getting the opportunity to see it for free, though, I made the decision that I wanted to go see it. So, my husband and I signed up to go and invited two of our friends to go with us (who also knew nothing about the movie). We checked it out on IMDb, and I knew that I was going to enjoy the movie. I love time travel, love, R-ratings, and romantic comedies all in one movie.

The beginning of the movie was a little slow for me - but generally, movies like this are because of the time needed to set up the story to come. They definitely wanted the watcher to get a good feeling of who the people were and why we were supposed to care about Tim (Domhnall Gleeson) or his family. I think it did a good job with it. Tim was a good main character. He was goofy, clumsy, strange, and all-together lovable. He had just the right amount of quirkiness.

The actors that truly shined in this movie was Bill Nighy (Dad) and Richard Cordery (Uncle D). The rest of the cast was wonderful too, but they brought the most laughs and provided some of the best moments of this movie. I didn't expect to laugh as much as I did during this movie. The jokes were very understated, but they were done with perfect timing and amazing delivery. Every moment of this movie was well planned.

Knowing some of the movies the director of this movie has under his belt let me know that there would be tears at some point, and he didn't let me down. It was definitely a tear-jerker in the best way possible. It pulls you in and makes you love each character as part of your own family - and you hurt with them and you laugh, cry, and love with them. But, they balance the teary moments with wonderful, thoughtful, and funny moments so that the watcher has a good moment to recover from what they were just going through. I went from laughing to crying to laughing to crying a lot and laughing some more.

I would suggest this movie to anyone looking for a good movie to see. You should definitely go see it while it's in theaters.

Girls Are Players

Series: G.A.P. #2

Author: Ingrid Seymour

Publication Date: December 4th 2013

Genres: New Adult, Romance

Synopsis

Wessica Norton is a villain in the body of a gorgeous, rich, college girl. She cheats, lies, plays with people’s feelings, and purposely breaks unsuspecting hearts to avenge a personal loss. She’s the kind of girl people love to hate—even if it’s just because she has it all. Except . . . she doesn’t have it all. What she wants most is the love of her high school sweetheart, Taylor Drennon, the guy who got away, the one who left without telling her why and caused all her bitterness.

Not surprisingly, Jessica’s evil has made her a pariah. Alone, without friends or Taylor’s love, her college life is a nightmare. She’s haunted by her own mistakes and drowning in lack of direction. Something needs to change. So when the first opportunity to turn her life around presents itself, she takes it. Home for Christmas break, Jessica runs into Taylor. His unexpected friendliness seems like an invitation to rekindle their love. Inspired by a drastic idea that will both distance her from her heinous reputation and pull her closer to Taylor, she decides to transfer to OSU where he attends under a football scholarship.

Confident she can regain his heart, Jessica reenters Taylor’s life with a splash. Failing to naturally lure him closer, she is then forced to rely on her old games and underhanded scheming. Though Jessica’s heart is in the right place, it is hidden from Taylor by her blunders. More than once their powerful chemistry takes control, leading Jessica to believe she’s winning. But, it’s a hot and cold affair, and she’s not the only one to blame for their stormy love. If Jessica can only coax Taylor into explaining why he doesn’t want her, maybe she could finally walk away from him for good, maybe she could finally be happy.

Allegiant cover

Allegiant

Author: Veronica Roth

Series: Divergent #3

Expected Release Date:October 22, 2013

Summary

One choice will define you.

What if your whole world was a lie?

What if a single revelation—like a single choice—changed everything?

What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected?

The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered—fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.

Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature—and of herself—while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.

Told from a riveting dual perspective, Allegiant, by #1 New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth, brings the Divergent series to a powerful conclusion while revealing the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in Divergent and Insurgent.

Reason for Waiting

I realized that this book released yesterday, but I am still waiting on it. I can't get it right now because a lack of funds - therefore, I am still waiting on it. I loved the first two books (the second more than the first), so I have full faith in Veronica Roth to deliver with this installment.
